Limited and signed illustration. The illustrations motif is inspired by the breathtaking James-Simon-Galerie building located on the Museum Island in Berlin.
Aligned in a north-south direction, the James-Simon-Galerie is located between the Kupfergraben and the Neues Museum in Berlin, Germany. This illustration is Kristina’s interpretation of the new building by architect David Chipperfield. The James-Simon-Galeries long sequence of columns (colonnades) are as beautiful as they are historical grounded. The architecture of this building sets a modern accent on the Museum Island and at the same time the building manages to blend in with the adjoining buildings.
As you might already know, the name of the new building, James Simon, belongs to one of the most important patrons in the history of the National Museums in Berlin. The striking appearance of the building made it easy for Kristina Dam to fall in love with and we hope that Kristina’s version of the building as an art print will find its way into many homes around the world.
