Anna Bülow is an evocative Swedish artist, illustrator and graphic designer living and working just outside of Oslo in Norway. The beauty of taking life seriously, daring to be vulnerable, feminism, silent communication – These are some of Anna’s creative triggers and the recurring themes in her soulful work.
Says Anna, ”At first glance, my work might look like I’m honouring ”the perfect”. But it’s actually the opposite – The beauty I search for has nothing to do with today’s hunt for fitting into a certain shape or form. My faces are simply tools in the study of communication, balance and content.”
Anna is not afraid of looking deep into our emotional lives in search of inspiration. Her work is filled with symbols and each piece hides and reveals multiple layers and stories.
Anna says, ”My art pieces are stories from life. Moments that I need to remember. Moments that I can’t forget.”
After painting for over 20 years, experimenting and testing different facial expressions, Anna’s artistry is now in a land between abstract and figurative art. The combination of the two gives her work a contemporary yet timeless feel. Her use of colours are subtle and restrained, yet still full of emotion and expression.
Anna’s work is appreciated all over the world and can be found in select interior design stores and galleries. Frequently used in projects by leading interior designers, architects and stylists – Designstuff is proud to present our curation of art prints from Anna Bülow.
